Sacre bleu! Estate Agent tells it how it is!

“Convaincus que leur maison est le plus beau et parce qu’un voisin a vendu leur pour un bon prix, les vendeurs ne leur prix pas baisser. Le resultat est que la transaction ne se fait pas.”

Francophile readers may recognise this as the comment of French Estate Agent Frederic Monssu reported recently in “This is Money”. Here it is in plain English.

“Convinced that their house is the most beautiful and because a neighbour has sold theirs for a good price, the sellers will not lower theirs. The result is that the transaction does not happen.”

Tres bon Frederic! What a pity that some of our native speaking Estate Agents are rather less candid when it comes to dealing with some sellers’ expectations.
