There has been a lot of coverage in the press about the Governments plans to change the planning system and to give more of a say to local people about what happens in their community.
Part of this process is the preparation and approval by the local community of a neighbourhood plan which will set out general planning policies for the development and use of land in a neighbourhood for the next 10 years. They will be able to say, for example, where new homes and offices should be built, and what they should look like. The neighbourhood plan will set a vision for the future of a neighbourhood which developers will have to take account of when seeking planning permission for new development in the area.
A neighbourhood plan is being prepared to cover Tettenhall, Tettenhall Wood, Finchfield, Aldersley, Compton, Castlecroft, Wightwick and surrounding areas and the first launch event takes place this evening at 6.303p.m. at Christ the King Church in Pendeford Avenue Wolverhampton WV6 9EJ. There is a second launch event this coming Saturday at 10.30a.m. at Christ Church Hall, Church Road, Tettenhall Wood, Wolverhampton WV6 8NQ.
These events are your opportunity to have your say about what development you want to see in your neighbourhood so make sure to go along and support them.
