Following the change in SDLT for second properties, the overall picture for the UK property market remains distorted. Add to the mix, the ‘Doom and Gloom’ of falling prices, the conflicting messages emanating from the opposing factions prior to the upcoming Referendum, and it is easy to understand why Mr & Mrs Average can’t decide whether to move house or not…
However, look beyond, and the picture is one of some growth; increased new home starts, talk of relaxing lending criteria and increasing mortgage availability.
What the market really needs is the confidence for new sellers to make the leap of faith and place their homes on the market, and to ignore any ‘Prophets (or should that be Profits?) of Doom’.
Before putting your home on the market be sure you are making an informed choice by arranging a FREE MARKETING APPRAISAL.
